Predestined to Succeed

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” – Jeremiah 1:5 (NIV)

Beloved, we were all created by God to fulfil our God-given assignment on the earth.

All of us are gifted differently, and once we holistically submit to Him and allow Him to be Lord of our lives, our predestined role and purpose will be revealed to us. The Word of God in Proverbs 3:6 (KJV) declares, “In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Our parents may realise that we are uniquely gifted in one way or another, but only God knows the entire treasure that He has deposited in our earthly vessels.

There is a need for us to recognise God’s authority and trust in His guidance for every aspect of our lives, from career choices to daily decisions. He promises to direct our path. Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with God. Do you question the purpose of your existence? Neither consult men nor a medium, lest you be deceived. Go to your Creator, your Potter, Jehovah God is His name, for His Word reminds us in Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV), “Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.”

Thus, for us to follow God’s call, we must have a relationship with Him. The Word in Jeremiah 33:3 should be interpreted as a clarion call from our God for all believers to seek a relationship with Him through prayer and supplication. He, in turn, will reveal our destiny and provide the directions, wisdom, knowledge and understanding for us to be successful as He makes known His purpose for our lives.

In the Book of Jeremiah, God not only appointed Jeremiah, but He also gave him his prophetic assignment. Given the magnitude of His assignment, Jeremiah initially protested His calling, complaining to God that he was ‘only a child.’ Research has shown that Jeremiah was between seventeen and twenty years old when he began his Ministry. Moses was called to ministry at the age of eighty.

I don’t know where you are today, but remember: You are not unqualified because you are too young, and you are not counted out because you are too old. Keep running your race well, because you are the Ecclesia, the called-out church, commissioned to fulfil the mission of God. Amen!
